I attended the European Association of Cancer Research Goodbye Flat Biology conference in Berlin, Germany from October 01-05, 2016. This special topic conference aimed to bring together researchers interested in the techniques and applications of 3D culture for studying cancer biology and drug development. There were multiple opportunities to network and meet with leading scientists in the field. I met researchers from diverse nationalities and trainings that enlightened me about the unique difficulties and experiences that come with doing science outside the US. It was a great opportunity to expand my scientific outlook and improve my communication skills.
