I spent 2009-2010 on a Fulbright Scholarship and 2011-2013 on a Whitaker International Scholarship in Lausanne Switzerland. On the shores of Lake Geneva, in the french-speaking part of Switzerland, I worked with a multinational group of scientists and engineers to conduct research on the role of interstitial flow and tumor drainage on brain and breast cancer. While in Switzerland, I explored the country through hiking and riding the trains, honing my landscape photography skills. I'm now developing a study abroad course to Switzerland focusing on Cancer Bioengineering at Virginia Tech so graduate students can have a taste of la Vie Suisse and appreciate the wonderful science and culture this country has to offer.
